Great achievement . Lots of journalist in Ireland slagging off provincial championship s. Full houses at Leinster , Connaught and Ulster with tightly fought games.
New rules have come good.

Tipp won their first Munster hurling championship game in about 68 years yesterday too. All Ireland champions at risk of being bombed out in the qualifiers, what a snake pit Munster hurling is. The football is a bit of an embarrassment though, it looked about 5,000 at the final, for good reason.

Delighted for Louth. Cracking game. New rules have transformed the game. Now get rid of the skorts and we might have a bit of genuine progress.

I have to defend Clare a bit here MrSheen their injuries are worse than QPR if thats actually possible .7 out of the starting 15 that won the All Ireland out including Shane O Donnell ( I know he came on) was too much to overcome.Plus teams figured out how to cut them open for easy goals and those are hard to claw back .
Strongly suspect Cork will win it all they have a savage team .
Fair play to Louth love to see new teams win titles gives hope to all so called weaker counties

I'm watching the Cork-Limerick match. It's half-time and Limerick are winning by 2-18 to 0-9, which nobody saw coming. It looks like they're back to their unplayable best, Cork look utterly shell-shocked.

The Munster Championship just keeps on delivering.

Yes quite the blitz first half. Cork at least made a fist of it second half, but damage done in first.

Hard to explain the skills you need to hurl at that level but Aaron Gillane's goal had a bit of everything - balance, trickery, speed, strength and clinical finishing.

Some score.

It has to be said, the blocks of green and red in the stands at Limerick were a fabulous sight. Quite the contrast with Thurles!

Monaghan very very impressive yesterday in beating Louth. Defensive workrate and efficiency just off the scale.

Got off to a flyer last week against Limerick, but couldn't keep it going. My bro-in-law a Dungarvan man and says they are overly reliant on Bennett.

My Mum’s from Dungarvan. I’d spend every summer holiday there - the whole 6 weeks - I got well into hurling and loved playing the game. Every now and then a cousin would introduce me to or point out an older lad in the town saying this is so and so he plays for the county. They generally never had any front teeth. I’m still over once or twice a year. My (other) hometown as the song nearly goes.

And, in case you're wondering, that's not me in the Waterford line up, just some imposter that shares my name...no, not Boston.

Coincidentally, my father-in- law was one of the founders of his club side.

Fairly ferocious first half in the Munster final. Thought Limerick were well in control up until the Cork goal, it's anyone's game now. Half time arrived just at the right moment for the officials. Think Limerick may well have enough.

Limerick certainly had the best of the decisions. But can't say I'm upset that we'll see extra time. Fantastic game!
