I’ve never posted on this forum before, but I thought I would do today.
My passion is writing about our heroes from yesteryear, and to that end, I have published my book ‘Super Squad’, a collection of tributes to the 23 players I feel had the greatest influence on English football in the 1960s and 70s:
I am now writing the follow up, ‘Super Squad 2’, a book covering the 70s and 80s. In this book, I have included my tribute to Stan Bowles. The book will be published later this year, but in the meantime, I have just recorded a podcast, based on my chapter about Stan, on the ‘Football Heritage’ site:
Ha, ha. It was a tricky one, yes. I didn’t want to overload the book with mavericks, and thought very carefully who should be included. But Best, Osgood and Dougan won that particular vote.
