The “Marti is going to raid our squad” theory is baffling to me. Even if they were a normal parachute payment rich club able to spend (which they aren’t) who exactly do we think in this squad screams promotion charge?
Edwards was the only one (and not ours). Maybe Varane and Chair as squad players, at a push. We’ve finished lower mid table for 3-4 years in a row. No one’s buying out players to get promoted our of this league. Look at the interest in Varane, that’s the market we’re interested in selling to. [Post edited 16 Jul 10:32]
