What are your attempts and protecting these important pollinators or don't you care
Myself I grow lavender and as many flowers my wife will let me plant although she has many times she'd like to see me planted .
We rightly are concerned about the nuclear threat but this small insect and the lack of can should cause us as equal concern .

I have a small garden with lavender and other unknown plants and a flowering spiky shrub with is ideal for small bird nesting.

My lavender is already drying out. Someone mentioned there was a Spanish lavender which flowered longer.

We just went with some advice on tv to not cut our garden, just let things grow wild for the first few weeks. Apparently it's good for bees, butterflys and other wild creatures.

Dandelions are a big favourite of bees when they first come out so cutting your grass robs them of votal supploes and we have a few large weeds growing up the side of the path that have been totally covered with caterpillars, Ciinabar moths apparently.

The downside being I now have a massive job to clear and tody the back garden.

I hate gardening with a passion, but the Mrs does her bit and likes to plant the old flowers for the bees. Behind our garden fence there’s a small strip of land which we’ve allowed to grow wild, it’s full flowering brambles and other plants the bees love.

I recently visited Rhossili and I really enjoyed. They’ve got the sunflower fields and they’ve also got a lavender field and a wild flower field - it was really nice. There were bees and caterpillars everywhere. I was really enjoyed and it was worth the journey to get there. A pint in the King Arthur on the way back was a bonus.

I've a few Lavender plants in my garden and the bees are loving them.

A gentle reminder that wasps are also great pollinators.

Love the King Arthur they serve decent grub there as well, not been down there this summer yet though.

AI answer as to why Glyphosate is not banned.

"No, glyphosate is not banned in the UK. While there are increasing restrictions and reductions in its use, glyphosate remains authorized for use until December 2025. Some local authorities are phasing out or banning glyphosate in public spaces, and there is growing public pressure for more sustainable weed management practices, but a UK-wide ban is not in place."

It was owned by Monsanto who are now owned by Bayern of Germany. It needs replacing and banning asp..

Councils are using it in parks.

Well where I live there no chance of the council killing the insect world ,they hadn't applied weed killer anywhere nor cut verges.
I grow lavender , geraniums, the bog standard bedding flowers such as marigolds and sunflowers ,not many bees so far this year but quite a few butterflies which help.

We have two types of Oregano in our garden, tiny flowers but the bees are mad for it.
