Hull-based referee Mark Brown is the man in the middle when Carlisle come to Spotland on Tueday night.

Mr Brown is in his second season as a league referee and this will be his second visit to Spotland in that capacity following his appearance at last term’s 3-3 home draw with Swindon.

We also saw Mark in March when he was the referee for Dale’s 2-0 win at Hartlepool.

Altogether last season he refereed 25 games, showing 68 yellow cards and five red.

He began this campaign with the Championship encounter between Burnley and Watford, which was followed by Barnsley v Morecambe in the Carling Cup.
