Cheltenham v Swansea - Match Preview

CHELTENHAM V SWANSEA - MATCH PREVIEW

The Swans hit the road for the second time in four days for their first away League game of the season at Cheltenham's Whaddon Road on Saturday. Flynn's men will be hoping to put the disappointment of Wednesday's Carling Cup defeat at Bristol City behind them as they look for the three points which could put them top of the table.

Saturday could well see the return of Lee Jenkins to the Swans defence after shaking off the knock he picked up in pre-season, but Karl Connolly is doubtful after coming off injured at Ashton Gate on Wednesday night. New signing Andy Robinson will miss the game due to a suspension he picked while with Tranmere last season. All eyes at Whaddon Road are sure to be on midfield dynamo Leon Britton, after his superb performance against Bristol City. Martinez, Maylett, Trundle and Thomas are also guaranteed starters.

Cheltenham boss Bobby Gould will be looking for his team to produce their first goals of the season after drawing two blanks in their opening fixtures. Gould will look to Nigerian striker Kayode Odejayi to open the Robins account for the season.

With all the 1000 terrace tickets already sold and any unsold stand tickets available to buy on the day at the ground, there'll certainly be a very vocal away following descending on the sleepy Gloucestershire town on Saturday, and the sound of nearly 1500 jacks in full voice in the Robin's tiny ground will make this one almost feel like a home fixture for the boys in white. So let's hope for a great day out and another three points for the Swans. When everything in the side "clicks" someone is going to get a hammering and I feel that Saturday could be the day.

I'll be on the 9:30am train and I drink Stella in case you fancy buying me can or two!

P.S. Don't tell my girlfriend though!!!
