Doncaster v Swansea - Match Preview

DONCASTER V SWANSEA - MATCH PREVIEW

Brian Flynn takes his Swans team to Belle Vue tonight to face Doncaster Rovers in the first of a series of tough Christmas fixtures. With Doncaster currently sitting in second place, the two teams first meeting in five years is certain to be a tense encounter.

With Lee Trundle serving the second of his three match ban, James Thomas will once again partner Kevin Nugent up front. Thomas will be hoping to add to the two goals he scored in last weekends home defeat at the hands of Southend. Brad Maylett and Leon Hylton both came through Wednesday's reserve game unscathed and are expected to be added to the squad. Although it is unlikely that either will start the game.

Flynns opposite number, ex-swan Dave Penney has no injury worries and has the luxury of having a full squad to choose with the return of John Doolan from suspension. Penney will be hoping to take all three points from his former club and send Rovers to the top of the Third Division table.

The next three games will be a real test of our promotion credentials, with a tough away match at Torquay on Boxing Day and what promises to be a real cracker at home to Yeovil on December 28th. With the imminent return of Martinez, Maylett, Connelly and Trundle, a good run of results over the festive period will set us up nicely for the second half of the season.

As this is the last match preview before Christmas, i'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and i'll see you all again on Christmas Day.
