Vetch Capacity Up By 500

Vetch Capacity Increased

Following on from the news about Lee Trundle signing an extension to his Swansea contract, there was further good news for Swans fans today with the announcement that the Vetch capacity for the Darlington game tomorrow will be increased by 500.

The increase follows a meeting with the safety advisory group who have also agreed to extend this number by a further 500 for the Bristol Rovers game on November 6th.

The North Bank will tomorrow be able to accommodate a total of 4,822 supporters as opposed to the previous total of 4,322. Both increases are subject to the supporters in this area keeping off the yellow painted areas - the club have been told that any problems on this front will see the capacity reduced back yet again.

On another positive note, the club are also in negotiations with the South Wales Police to re-open the West Terrace (home side) to paying Swansea fans for the remainder of the season, after a meeting held on Wednesday afternoon at The Guildhall attended bySwans' director David Morgan and Club Safety Officer John Morgan. As the West Terrace holds 2,189 in total, this will now take the capacity of the Vetch to just over 12,000.

The Police have issued a statement in which they urge fans to turn up early for all remaining games this season, to ensure that they gain entry to the ground.
