Last Week Of Warming Up
Last Week Of Warming Up
Thursday, 17th Jul 2008 08:58

This week see's the final week ofwarming up completed.

Pre season might have been underway for three weeks at the end of this week, but the real preparation doesnt start till next week.

To be blunt the weeks so far have been spent in getting fit, the manager starting to get to know his players and a stream of games against lower opposition with multiple substitutions and mixed sides, purely aimed at working the players, the fact that these games have been won handsomely means nothing.

The Celtic game and the Eastleigh trip this weekend are likewise nothing more than work outs, the Celtic game might be a little pointed as to how the side might line up, as the first half will be a littlle more competitive than the second, but if truth be known, Saints are building up slowly and it will be the visit of West Ham 7 Stoke before Saints supporters can give a more accurate verdict on how the club is starting to progress under its new regime.

With that being the case patience is the verdict, In Claus's game Saints are up against a half decent side, so fans should remember that it is his night, if Saints fare badly then it is not the time to make a hasty judgement on the summer's shennanigans and voice your protests.
