A quick guide for saints fans travelling to Pride Park

The first tip for saints supporters planning to travel to Pride Park on Saturday is to buy your ticket in advance, tickets go up three pounds on the day meaning that you have to pay £28 for an adult ticket instead of the £25 advance price, tickets can be bought from St Mary's up till 4pm on Friday 22nd August.

For those travelling by train the ground is well signposted, there are several pubs opposite the train station and also if you turn right out of the station in the direction of the ground, its advisable to allow 15 minutes to get from them to the stadium though.

Although the most direct road into the ground is taking junction 25 from the M1 and following the A52 right into the ground, we have always found that way busy and difficult to find somewhere to park, our advice is to take exit 24A and then follow the A50 and A6, this will bring you in through the suburbs, about half a mile from the Stadium there is a pub called the Navigation Inn, there is usually plenty of parking either in the pub car park itself, or street parking, alternatively there are spaces at the Wilmorton College next door. Pride Park is about a 10 minute walk from here.

The ground itself is very similar on three sides to St Mary's although in truth it is really closer to Middlesbough's stadium in design. Away fans are accomodated in the Cawarden or south Stand with a similar view to the away section at St Mary's.

The usual fare of stadia catering and beer on sale at the bars in the ground, unlike our last visit when we had 5,000 for the play off game there will only be about a quarter of that number this time round meaning that there should be a good choice of where to sit and easy to get a pie & a pint.

The big question will be can Saints make it 35 games without a league win for the rams.
