Saints At Burnley The Verdict
Saints At Burnley The Verdict

Saints once again gave their opponents a good start before the game was barely started.

To be blunt you cant give a side a three goal lead with barely ten minutes on the clock and expect to get anything out of it apart from pride, and thats just about all Saints scraped  as the Clarets blitzed them in the opening period.

However Saints have to pu this result behind them and concentrate on what is certainly the biggest game of the season so far, the visit of Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

As I have always been saying Saints have to look at the season as little groups of six games, a look back at the last half dozen has seen a good start tail off, we had six points from our first four, but the last two games ending in defeat has meant that the figures dont look too good, however we did get six points from those six games and that is acceptable, although it has to be said unremarkable, and as the sides below us have not fared any better our heads are still way above water, but they could and should have been a lot more daylight between us and the bottom three.

Saints have to learn not to be hassled out of games, it looked like we had put our faults from earlier in the season behind us, however it seems like we have taken a few steps backwards in the last two games, however this side has proved it has the spirit to fight back through adversity and we have to expect a few hammerings along the way.

The crunch is of course on Saturday with the visit of Nottingham Forest, this result could make or break our season.
