"West Brom Win Was For Lakey's Mum"
Thursday, 22nd Oct 2009 08:51

Darren Pratley has revealed that the West Brom victory has been dedicated to Huw Lake's mother who passed away on Tuesday

Swansea City recorded an excellent away win at the league leaders on Tuesday night - a victory that has been dedicated to the club's liaison officer after his loss.

Midfielder Darren Pratley told the Evening Post "Garry (Monk) told us what had happened in the afternoon before the game, and we all said we wanted to get a result for Lakey and his mum,

"The huddle at the end of the game was for Lakey and we dedicated the result to his mum.

"He does so much for the club that we can't thank him enough, so we wanted to do that for him.

"Obviously, the chairman and the manager run the club, but Lakey does a lot.

"He helped me settle in when I first came here, and he helps all the foreign lads. Anyone who is injured gets a lot of help from Lakey too.

"He does a lot of stuff that people don't see, and he knows how much he means to the players.

"We are just upset that he has lost his mum, and hopefully we have cheered him up a little bit."
