The Sunday papers are reporting that West Ham's move for Eidur Gudjohnsen looks to have been called off

And any cancellation could spark Swansea City into action again after Brendan Rodgers said earlier in the week that he had given up hope of signing the striker as he looked set to join West Ham.

At the time he told Sky Sports "Eidur won't be coming. I spoke to him again last night and I think he'll probably end up going to London to be at West Ham."

But today's papers are reporting that Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is set to pull the plug on the deal because of Gudjohnsen's reluctance to sign a contract despite undergoing a medical.

The Sunday Express claims that Allardyce has become frustrated at the lack of a signature from the Icelandic international and now wants to end the deal.

The paper also claims that AEK Athens have also joined the race for Gudjohnsen.
