Saints Again Linked With Feyenoord Midfielder
Monday, 26th Jan 2015 21:39

With Jack Cork's future at St Mary's up in the air, Saints are once again believed to be in for a player from Ronald Koeman's old club Feyenoord.

Saints are being linked with 20 year old midfielder Tonny Vilhena, another youngster who got his chance in the Feyenoord side under Ronald Koeman.

Vilhena broke into the side in 2012 and has started 62 games plus another 16 as sub in the Eridivisie and was a second half substitute for Feyenoord on Sunday for their draw with Ajax. He has scored 10 goals in those games.

The draw at Ajax sees the Rotterdam club was behind both Ajax and leaders PSV Eindhoven and although they look set to get a Europa League place, Champions League now looks beyond them and they could take an offer for Vilhena who only turned 20 on January 3rd.

Certainly he is the type of player who Koeman will be looking at and it could be that if he can get Vilhena in now he will try to recover part of the fee by selling Jack Cork.
