Protest Plane To Be Flown Over St Mary's Today
Saturday, 15th Aug 2015 09:07

Saints fans will get a feeling of we have seen it all before as a plane is set to fly above St Mary's this afternoon with a protest message.

Many fans in St Mary's this afternoon will remember a decade or so ago when a plane towing behind it the message "Lowe Out" circled the skies above the stadium and a feeling of deja vu may be the order of the day.

However this time it isn't the Saints board who are the subject of the protest but the Everton one and Chairman Bill Kenwright.

Everton fan groups have clubbed together to pay for the banner which will bear the message "Kenwright and Co - #TimeToGo NSNO".

Everton have now not won a trophy since 1995 and it has been three years since their last period of being a true title contender, older fans will remember their tem back in the 1980's and further back in the 1960's with the Holy Trinity in their midfield which included future Saints player and manager Alan Ball.

Now though Everton fans have had to accept that they cannot compete with so called big teams like Chelsea & Manchester City both of whom they would say they were far bigger than up to the 90's.

Everton website School Of Science is one of the groups behind the protest and editor Joe Jennings said.

“Fans who have grown up supporting one of England’s greatest clubs are increasingly tired of the same old excuses from this board.

“The media see Everton as a well-run club, with relatively little debt, and a true blue safeguarding its future; for an increasing number of fans the reality is somewhat different.

“Sixteen years ago this board employed an asset utilisation business model, that is to say they funded the club’s activities through selling assets and outsourcing all commercial enterprises; this meant that, apart from personally buying shares, none of the directors has ever invested a single penny into the club.

“Now the assets have all gone and Everton’s commercial income, at just £12 million, is one of the smallest in the league.
