Former Man Utd Man Back For Sunderland

Dick Advocaat was probably saved a difficult decision for tomorrow when Younes Kaboul was ruled out of their clash with us at the Stadium of Light due to injury.

Kaboul had been widely criticised for some of his defending last weekend and was possibly under consideration as to whether he would keep his place or not ahead of the Swans visit

But the injury means that decision does not need to be taken and it is former Manchester United defender John O'Shea who will be in the Sunderland line up for the game.

O'Shea had been left out at the start of the season in favour of Kaboul and Coates which was something that Advocaat was explaining at his press conference

“We had to look forwards and those guys (Kaboul and Coates) are younger and quicker,” added Advocaat.

“John was not in his best shape and he knows that as well.

“But the good thing was, one which I really respect, was that when I told him, he said ‘it’s a long season gaffer’.

“I believe in Kaboul, so I started with him.

“But I have to change that now because Kaboul is injured.”
