QPR v Bristol City Betting Preview
QPR v Bristol City Betting Preview
Saturday, 21st Mar 2009 01:08

The pundits are back to look ahead to QPR's home game with Bristol City and for value elsewhere in the weekend markets.

We have a steward's enquiry in the betting column this week. Eagle eyed readers will have noticed in our last column that Brian backed Leigertwood for the first goal against Southampton and Swansea in his write up, but only the Southampton game went on the form. Well meetings have gone on long into the night and we have decided that as he clearly did state his intention to back Mikele the 20/1 win on Tuesday night does stand. That means he is now just £21.78 in debt and appears to be comoing home with a wet sail. The Challenger accoun is going the other way however with another dire week and a £57.09 debt overall. Stick with us kids.

Well it finally paid off and despite Clive not submitting it in the piece I am claiming Leggys’s first goal against Swansea as a winner as I submitted it in my mail and at 20/1 with Hills it was about time and I collected on our midfielder and I am now only 21.78 off being in credit. Now watch me go 6 weeks without a win !!

Our old foes from Bristol come to HQ on Saturday and you have to admire what Gary Johnson has done in his time at City. However I fancy us to win and score twice !!! Leggy is 28/1 with BET365 to notch first and is wrth a punt at that price considering he is 12/1 with other firms.

England stuffed France last week to send my 6 Nations bet out of the window and make it a winner take the lot in Cardiff. I fancy the Irish and will put Tommy Bowe up as first tryscorer at 14/1

We will have another punt on a Lucky 15, a couple of footie bets and a horse bet thrown in for good measure to give a wide range of interest this week. Enjoy the weekend

Well Super League is not my friend it seems. Bacing Warrington to win in London last weekend because "they've got to beat somebody soon" seemed like sound logic at the time - in the end Quins ran in 60 points and there were reports of Warrington fans trying to set fire to their shirts in the away end. Never mind lads. I was going to back them to beat Hull KR in a single bet this week but as Rovers are actually odds against despite being a superior team I will swallow my pride and back them. Anyway I probably would have backed Castleford to win at Hull on Friday night by the same logic that Hull can't keep to win - however attending that match delaye this column until afterwards and so that's a shit night all round! Alas, never mind. I'm tempted to give the Damion Stewart first scorer bet a rest for now because I'm not sure he'll start against Bristol City but then if I do we all know what will happen so, again, through sheer bloody mindedness I'll stick with him.

For the weekend:

£10 Damion Stewart to score first against Bristol City 25/1

£10 Bristol City to win 11/5

£20 Hull KR to win at Warrington 5/4

£10 treble - Birmingham 4/5 and Southampton 7/4 to win and Cardiff v Sheff Utd to draw 9/4
