Breaking Rocks In The Hot Sun
Breaking Rocks In The Hot Sun

... I fought the law and the law won. So sang The Clash almost thirty years ago to the day.

Well, let's hope they're playing that in the 'paddy wagon' that takes
Messrs Keith, Mackenzie, Mackay  and Lowe away from Northampton Crown
Court but unfortunately it won't be today.

July 17th 2009, would have been a notable date in the recent history of Derby County. The date when Messrs Keith, Mackenzie and Mackay were due to hear their fate after being found guilty of conspiracy to defraud or false accounting.

Unfortunately, due to the vagaries of the British legal system, we're not going to hear what sentences are to be handed down until Monday at the earliest. Defence counsel have entered pleas for mitigation, as is their right under British Law and so court will be reconvened at 10am on Monday, July 20th and we have to wait a few more days.

The RamZone team is as anxious as everyone else to hear whether the guilty parties will be required to experience the hospitality of Her Majesty's Prison Service and we're aiming to have the details of sentencing just as soon as they're announced on Monday, so make sure to visit us then.
