Last game: Rotherham Utd 1-0 Accrington Stanley

Quotes from the manager: From the Scunthorpe Telegraph;

“The game was far too open, we can't hide away from that, obviously I'm not hiding away from the fact that defenders have been injured, but we have been in situations where we have got to be better at defending as a team – it's as simple as that".

"We have got to have a better control of the tempo and to do that there are things we have been talking about behind the scenes that we have got to try and implement as best we can. People don't like change but change is what's important.".

The Rams

Quotes from the manager: From the BBC;

“Rotherham thoroughly deserved it, I was disappointed by the manner of the defeat but I thought Rotherham thoroughly deserved their victory, but it's the manner in which you lose, not just the fact of losing."

Information for travelling fans:

Driving:

A relatively straightforward drive. Take the M1 north to the Junction with the M18, then take the M18 to the junction with the M180 and finally join the M181 to Scunthorpe. Turn right at the end of the motorway and Glanford Park is on the left.

NOTE: Speed cameras are in operation on the M180.

Parking:

There is a car park at the ground which is cheap and easy to get out of after the game. .

Drinking: There is one pub right at by the ground called 'The Old Farmhouse'. All fans are welcome but ridiculously for a pub outside a football ground, it has a no colours rule. The Berkley further along the maon road towards Scunthorpe is better.

Mick’s Prediction:

For 35 minutes last week the team looked good. They passed well, tackled well and created chances. They went off the boil somewhat following the injury to Green and I wonder if this is the key.

Green is one of those players who doesn’t catch the eye a great deal but actually covers a lot of ground and does a lot of work. The work he did left Pearson free to be creative with the ball and Savage to do what he does best – get among the opposition.

Remove Green and the work has to be done by Pearson or Savage and they aren’t as good at it. This might explain the abject result in the week. …

Probable team:

Bywater, Connolly, Buxton, Addison, Moxey, Pearson, Savage, Green, Teale, Croft, Davies

Subs:

Deeney, Barker, Leacock, Varney, Mendy, Pringle, Moxey

Prediction:

Scunthorpe 0-2 Derby County
