More than 180 Republican terrorists won't face prosecution including the hyde park bombers. Tony Blair has a lot to answer for.

There are hundreds on both sides of that conflict who have quite literally got away with murder. It's the sort of thing that sticks in the throat but was also necessary to stop them blowing each other up. Also, John Major's government put in the bulk of the groundwork for the Good Friday Agreement. Blair did what was necessary to actually get the thing signed. So to paint this as "Labour's fault mun" is simplistic in the extreme.

It's true that people on both sides have literally got away with murder so why have only republicans received these letters?

Yes it is. What about members of the parachute regiment who still could face prosecution for what happened on bloody Sunday. An absolute scandal and some of these politicians who sanctioned this favouritism towards the the ira scum should stand trial themselves.

I was just thinking that it would be hard to argue in favour of Bloody Sunday prosecutions given that 200 suspected republican terrorists have walked free. Not that I see any benefit in Bloody Sunday prosecutions 40 years on anyway.

It's a proper clusterf*ck out there and always has been. At least the Good Friday Agreement has brought some semblance of peace even if the cost in unpunished criminality is hard to stomach at times.

The cowardly politicians were responsible for over 25 yrs of murder and bombings. The security services knew who the terrorists were and where they were, and if they had given the British army the green light to take these terrorists out many thousands of lives would have been saved.

What price for peace then ? Everyone can judge for themselves, of course, but the real sustained progress made is a fact that all those involved should be rightly proud of. People are tired of hate and most just want to look forward now.

It would be extremely difficult to feel so sanguine about the bigger picture if what was left of your child had been shovelled into a hessian sack and you were made to sit impotently by as those directly responsible were granted a free pass.

People on both sides have had that asked of them. The only alternative seemingly even more murders. Are you really suggesting that the hard won peace is somehow worse than the previous cycle of muderous hate ?

Using children is emotive all life is precious, but you might remember Tim parry he was blown up in the Warrington bombings his parents Colin wendy campaigned for peace because they did want the same to happen to anyone else.
