The cost of Premiership Goals. 22:33 - Mar 5 with 1314 viewsA_Fans_Dad

I have been looking at the "Value for money" of this year's Premier League Top Scorers.
They are split in to 3 sections:-
Those that are the best Value as they cost nothing in terms of Transfer fee as they came up through the club or are on Loan
They are
Remy with 13 Goals at £0m cost
Lukaku with 10 goals at £0m cost to Everton, but cost Chelsea £18m in 2011
Welbech with 8 goals at £0m cost
Lallana with 7 goals at £0m cost

Then there those that were transferred some years ago and their cost is spread over more than one year they are
Lambert with 8 goals at £0m cost, but cost Soton £1m in 2009 and has scored 101 goals at about £0.01m + wages per goal

Ramsey with 8 goals at £0m cost, but cost Arsenal £5m in 2008 and has scored 12 goals at about £0.4m + wages per goal
Rodriguez with 10 goals at £0m cost, but cost Soton £6m in 2012 and has scored 16 goals at about £0.4m + wages per goal
Adebayor with 8 goals at £0m cost, but cost Soton £5m in 2012 and has scored 13 goals at about £0.4m + wages per goal
Giroud with 12 goals at £0m cost, but cost Arsenal £13m in 2012 and has scored 23 goals at about £0.6m + wages per goal
Van Persie with 11 goals at £0m cost, but cost Man U £24m in 2012 and has scored 37 goals at about £0.6m + wages per goal
Adam with 6 goals at £0m cost, but cost Stoke £5m in 2012 and has scored 9 goals at about £0.6m + wages per goal

Aguero signed for City in 2011, which isn't 2013, nor is it 2012...

You've got far too much time on your hands.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.
Poll: Should Dippy Drakeford do us all a massive favour and just bog off?

What about assists? That's a fairly important part of a goal.

Yes it is and I could do something with it, I assume you mean the assists that that the scorers also had?

The point of the exercise was to show how good value Bony was and how that initial outlay spread over a few years really brings down the cost of the goals to the club. So hanging on to a good player really is a good idea.

Michu was really super value with 20 goals in his 1st season for £2m at £0.1m per goal.
