Come off it, Holloway - you can't fool all the people all the time! 19:46 - Mar 9 with 1789 viewspkay_brum

A remarkable denial diatribe here from Millwall boss Ian Holloway, refusing to accept how his relegation-haunted team wasted time in snatching their unlikely 1-0 win at Derby:

Ollie - please treat football fans with respect - any analysis shows that you organised your squad to deny any real football and ensure that time was wasted and play broken up, at every opportunity.

It worked this time; good luck with your 'football', if that's what you serve up. If Millwall are relegated, they will hardly be missed.

The Lions were wasting time from the 14th minute; the referee had to prompt Millwall several times at throw-ins right from early on, and the officials were soon pulled into a vortex of ambiguity about whether Lions players were actually injured or not.

The ref had a 90-minute job on his hands to recognise injury, or simulation and time-wasting, so frequently was one or other of their players seemingly struck down by serious injury.

I'm hard-pressed (in 45 seasons) to recall a team so bent on spoiling and delay - and making comments about his players 'being kicked' just beggars belief!

Ollie's outburst is insulting and inaccurate - and Derby as a squad are hardly equipped to lay waste and dish out physical punishment in the way that a good half-dozen other 'orthodox' Championship teams regularly demonstrate.

Calling the ref's performance 'bizarre' is curious...he was tolerant and responsive to incidents in the main. Ollie should acknowledge that Millwall 'milked' all the time they could. It was ruddy obvious enough.

The goalie was finally cautioned after at least six ridiculous goal-kick delays, and was one of several Lions players prompted to hurry up by the ref, even in the first half.

Ollie should give his physios a day off to rest after all their pitch-side 'work' and excursions every 3 or 4 minutes, let alone reward his players for their successful graft in nicking the result!

Derby have themselves to blame for the defeat - lack of quality in the final third and a crucial lapse of concentration to concede a goal proved very costly on the day.

But Ollie turning the argument round about time-wasting and pleading innocence is just nonsense.

Just laugh up your sleeve, enjoy the win, and shut up, mate - we'll see how far those tactics get you by the time May comes around, won't we?

At least the Blues did to Burnley last night what they did to us, drawing 3-3 with sub Macheda scoring two goals - the last after 90mins - to deny Burnley a win.

Referees do seem to be getting embroiled in controversy wherever Burnley play at present. The notoriously incosistent standards of match officials will have a significant bearing on the promotion race.

Birmingham manager Lee Clark was furious at the behaviour of the ref at last night's Blues-Burnley game, and will take up a complaint:
