I once met briefly Jake Burns and the boys in the early 90's outside a hotel in Leicester.

We were on a stag weekend. We didn't know it but the band were staying in the same hotel. We discovered this at about 6AM when the fire alarm went off and we all had to trapse outside whilst the fire brigade turned up. Needless to say a load a very hungover stag party wasn't exactly appreciative of this situation, generally looking like shyte. SLF were looking even worse than we did, never meet your heros when you all feeling like death warmed up. It doesn't make for great conversation.

Fantastic band and one of the best live bands I have seen (albeit once).

Never knowingly understood

I've read plenty of QPR related drivel in the last 24 hours but this is like a mass outbreak of Mexican dysentry at a horse show.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Also mentions of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - almost spat out my tea. Not past Bungle and gang to go after him.

Better candidate than pretty much anyone else that's been linked with the job.

Why?

Unproven at this level.
Ex-Chelsea
Worked in a good set up with foundations already laid.
Never had to manage "big" names

Why is the best candidate?

As nutty and unstable as he may be, Pearson is clearly the best candidate given what he did at Leicester at this level very recently.

And took longer to do it than he could possibly get at QPR.

And he doesn't get on with Hoos.

And he's unstable. You mentioned that, but it's important enough to note again.

Well, I'll concede the nutty point. He has that "something happened to him as a child" instability, I grant you.

However, the fact it took him longer at Leicester than he'll get here is a poor reflection on our board and fans, not him.

And I'm not sure it was Hoos and him who fell out. Thought it was Hoos and someone else. Happy to be corrected, though.
