Port Vale Forum Pre Match Interview / Report vrs Colchester 17:19 - Feb 28 with 2948 viewsRobbie_Earles_Perm

Hi,

I'm the pre-match reporter for the Port Vale Fans Forum One Vale Fan.

Part of my role is to contact fans of our forthcoming opponents to ask them a few questions and gain their views on the upcoming fixture between our sides in order to produce a report which we release on the site a couple of days prior to the game. Some of you kindly contributed to our reverse fixture article and I wondered if some posters would like to take part by answering some different questions.

I wondered if up to three of you have a few minutes and would kindly offer your feelings on the game by answering the following few questions;
1. Tell us a bit about yourself & history as a fan?
2. How are your team doing (current form and in relation to the expectation of fans at the start of the season)?
3. Where you think you will finish in terms of league position?
4. Who should we watch out for (one or more danger player/s)?
5. What are your thoughts on your manager?
6. What are your thoughts on your board & off field club activities?
7. Any views on the current Port Vale team & specific players?
8. Did you attend the reverse fixture earlier this season? If so what were your thoughts on the game?
9. Any views & memories of players / managers that have been involved with both teams?
10. A score prediction (and potential scorers for both sides)?

Please also feel free to include any other information you feel worthy and I will knock it into a report as per the example below regarding contribution from Wigan fans from a game with them;
http://www.onevalefan.co.uk/site/2015/09/wigan-fans-the-jurys-out-on-manager-gar

To enable me to produce this in good time I need a reply by Wednesday and the report should appear on the website a day or two before our fixture.

Please also let me know if you would like me to include your name on the article and if you are prepared to share one a photo of yourself we can utilise with the article.

Many thanks for your potential support in this matter.

Best Regards,

REP :)

What happens if you block someone? Do you still read their posts in the forum or are their contributions just filtered out?

In answer to your question JT, when you're logged in you cannot see posts by anyone on your "ignore" list, nor indeed the entirety of any thread started by them, which obviously also means you cannot directly reply to any of their posts either. However, whilst you're logged out you can see all of the above, though again still can't reply to any of their posts, simply because you're not logged in. As I tend to flit backwards and forwards between my laptop and my iPhone to view the U'sual, this means I often start from a logged out starting point and go from there. Personally, I've found being removed from many of the posts Pete makes hasn't diminished my enjoyment of the U'sual at all, and therefore have no plans to change any day soon.

And that's why some people choose to block you.

Just wanted to clarify a few things Barside about your last message.

a. People have sent you messages to say hat they found your 10 questions funny?

b. "Jones? I have no idea who the hell he is" Are you talking about me, Robbie Earle or Robbie_Earle's_Perm?

c. Are you threatening Wessex?

Regards,

JT

I have no comment.

As I wrote above, not worth my time.

Maybe that is a necessary sacrifice? I'm not interested in the NFL PL or Happy Cup next year anyway.

I'm not meaning to sound out of place here Pete, but I just find your comments a little insensitive sometimes Barside.

Each to their own I suppose.

Fair enough. My filter is not always perfect.

Well of course you're not interested in the NFL PL. It was a general reference.

But to not want to be in the legendary Happy Cup? As you say, to each his own.

You'll still be in one of four groups. Top two in each are in the quarterfinals. I hope you do choose to take part.

Thank you for the invitation to join next year's Happy Cup. However, I was slightly concerned with the thin veiled treat of violence directed towards Wessex in your previous message. For that reason I would not like to take part in next year's cup competition. Please do not include me in any of the tables.

Wessex and I have been in a disagreement for years going back to the OMB site back in 2006 or 07. He nonetheless appears to have un-ignored me after a number of months --based on a comment he made above, empirical evidence.

You won't be in a Happy Cup table. If you don't want to be in an initial group stage, I'll respect that.

I just want to go on and finish this term of the U's --painful, listening to the U's on U's Player every week-- and my hope to secure a playoff spot in D1, still not sure how to pick my own 10 in MFB's PL -- I may have selected this week's 10 but now as I look at them, I have no idea. Could be 4-12 points for anyone. I must have been feeling some kind of sense of humour opting for these 10...

I decided, as I got the Bradford 1-2 Colchester correct last weekend in Daniel's PL, to opt for Port Vale 2-1 The U's this Saturday, Moncur first to score. But The U's to lose.

If I'm right then I should be in first or near first after this weekend.
