Scraping the barrel if there's truth in it. Squads going backwards

Good on corners he'd be. Have to find him a bed to sleep on though. Tricky now Eddershaws is closed.

Very under rated player. No problem if we signed him and kept the rest .

You are joking I assume?

He was a good player several years ago. Not now. You just don't sign a 35 year old to replace 3 forwards you've got rid of, even as back up or back up to the back up.

I refuse to believe there's any truth in this as if there was it would show that we have completely lost any ambition and are just stripping the club bare.

Longer strecher's needed for medical staff.

Depends if we're bringing anyone else in. I think he'd make a great squad player.

Never thought of that, wouldn't want his legs hanging over. You'd be a good manager, thinking of things like that.

Why - are we entering a senior's league?

If we're looking for an old, tall striker, let's see if Toshack still has his boots perhaps.

Can't remember saying he is the man to replace 3 players.

Crouch knows where the net is, we need a back up to our main striker . Like i said, keeping what we got and it's a decent signing.

Llorente as our main striker, Ayew and crouch as back up and there will be no complaints from me.
As much as I'd like us to sign Europe's best , realistically that ain't gonna happen.

Perhaps, with the signing of Llorente as well, this signals a radical new strategy, getting right away from the 'seven dwarfs' line up of recent years. It's now going to be the Harlem Globetrotters approach, with Tony Pulis brought in as assistant manager.

Not so much Route One as Route Airforce One.

You obviously don't watch much Italian football. 35 is not that old. Especially for a target man who would be 3rd choice and only play a bit part. Wouldn't pay £3 million for him but I'd take him on a free as long as we signed a top striker as well. Id take a 35 year old crouch over spunking millions on another Eder

'No problem if we signed him and kept the rest' is what you said.

'The rest' doesn't include the three forwards we've shipped out.

And there's a hell of a middle ground between Europe's best and Crouch.

Who would you suggest as a back up player then?

Remember that not many players of note will come here to sit on the bench.

I don't think it will happen and I don't think Huw will be so daft to think of crouch as our main striker.

Funnily enough we don't play in the Italian league.

This would be an utterly ridiculous signing.

A younger player that has the chance to develop with us?

Seriously - I have no idea whatsoever what we're doing. We have spent years taking the mick out of clubs making this sort of signing.

Llorente at 31 is one thing, Crouch at 35 quite another.

Can you believe anyone is rationalising Peter Crouch playing for Swansea City? If we bring him in we know it's the end of any ambition or progression of this club. Fits in with the times though i suppose.

I give up.

We have lost the plot completely.

Let's pay whatever insane amount he's on (and by that - anything approaching a big salary for him would be insane, let alone how much he may be on), and let's have no development, no resale value, no ambition.

Get rid of 3 forwards, use Ayew instead, have Dyer where Ayew played and bring in Peter Crouch.

Brilliant. A winger that can't cross the ball accurately feeding a player that can no longer run.

Yeah right.

There are no logistics on this planet that would make a 35 year old Peter Crouch a good signing for the Swans. Because he's going to want paying, and even if he played for free he's taking up a place in our 25.

If this had been Cardiff City signing him in the premier league people on here would have taken the mick for the whole season.
