Welcome to the UK, Mr President on 10:12 - Jul 13 by Ace_Jack | Funny how those who slagged Obama off for "intervening" in the Brexit referendum are totally silent when it comes to Trump destabalising British politics, the Union, EU and NATO while he is a guest in our country. |
I can only imagine Highjack is so furious at Trumps intervention in UK politics, he's taken himself away from the internet for a few hours to calm down. He'll be back later to condemn Trumps interview.

Obama stuck his nose during the run up to the vote at the request of the British government and told lies. President Trump is saying that as long as the U.K. is aligned with Eu regulations a trade deal between the U.K. and the USA is very unlikely. Who has put President Trump up to say this, Putin ?🤣

No Obama didn't. We've been through this already. You may not have liked what he said, but that doesn't mean it was a lie.

I’m glad President Trump is undermining her. In fact i hope he ratchets up the pressure on her even more. As for Obama- back of the queue, which was definitely choreographed. [Post edited 13 Jul 2018 10:34]

At least Obama had us in a queue. Trump doesn't want to do a trade deal with 80% of our economy. Whats wrong with our services industry, why doesn't trump want to cut a free trade deal on ourFinancial Services, Law, Accountancy and Insurance services??

May has said she wants a trade deal with the USA. The president of the USA has said that is now very unlikely. This is the President of the USA speaking about a possible trade deal which involves the country he leads, so he’s well entitled to speak about issues that may have consequences for his country. Now what part of America was Obama speaking for when he made back of the queue remark ? We all know it was choreographed and only an idiot would suggest otherwise.

You still haven’t answered my question. What part of America was Obama speaking for with his back of the queue remarks, since we have now established that President Trump is well entitled to speak about a trade deal involving the country he leads.

He was speaking his opinion as president at the time. He can't second guess what a future president might think. I don't really have a problem with Trump saying what he thinks to be honest, but he is actively undermining our PM. Obama was kind of right though, as trump has effectvely booted us out of the queue altogether. Trump doesn't want to do a trade deal with 80% of our economy which would be free to do a deal with him. Why doesn't he want more of our Financial, Law, Insurance, IT, Engineering, Architectural, Creative and Accountancy firms operating more freely in America? [Post edited 13 Jul 2018 11:16]

The Americans don’t want a trade deal because we are only leaving the Eu in name only. Democracy is now dead in this country. As for why don’t they want a deal involving the sectors you’ve mentioned is very simple. The Americans want a comprehensive trade deal and aren’t going to accept a deal where they are excluded from certain sectors, because the U.K. is tied to Eu regulations. Really is that simple.

So there is a real intent from america to sell us they're reduced welfare meat and inferior cars, at the cost of our own manufacturing and less so, our agricultural industry. Our manufacturers (assembly plants) are heavily reliant on trade with the EU as we now all know.
Welcome to the UK, Mr President on 11:48 - Jul 13 with 1832 views | Shaky | The world has truly become a bizarre place when you find yourself meditating hopefully on the possibility of a military coup in the US: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Pentagon goes into 'damage control' mode to reassure NATO allies “One thing you need in this alliance is predictability,” one diplomatic official said. by Carol E. Lee, Courtney Kube and Geoff Bennett / NBC, Jul.13.2018 / 11:06 AM ET / Updated 11:14 AM ET WASHINGTON – Hours after President Donald Trump departed NATO headquarters Thursday, U.S. military leaders embarked on a full-scale “damage control” operation with calls to their counterparts across Europe to reassure them that America will abide by its defense commitments in the region. The outreach, directed by the Pentagon leadership, came after Trump threatened to reassess those commitments during a gathering with NATO allies in Brussels, according to multiple current and former diplomatic and military officials familiar with the calls. The overall message from senior military officials in a series of phone calls to members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization has been that U.S. military bases in their countries will remain open and American troop levels in the region will not be reduced. The Pentagon-led effort was meant to counter Trump’s withering criticism about the security alliance that rattled European leaders. “One thing you need in this alliance is predictability,” one diplomatic official said. The direct conversations were aimed at “reinforcing alliance commitments,” after Trump “made it clear alliance commitments were on the table,” according to one U.S. official familiar with the discussions. When asked at a Thursday morning press conference whether he had threatened to pull out of NATO, Trump replied, “that’s unnecessary and people have stepped up today like they’ve never stepped up before. And remember the word, $33 billion more they’re paying.” On Wednesday, Trump asked NATO countries to raise their defense-spending threshold to 4 percent of GDP. Speaking to reporters after the conclusion of the two-day summit, French President Emmanuel Macron denied the spending levels would reach historic highs. “The communique is clear," Macron said. "It reaffirms a commitment to 2 percent in 2024. That is all." That commitment was made two years before Trump was elected. But a senior U.S. administration official described Trump as "aggressive" behind closed doors with leaders of the 29-nation alliance and argued that they need to significantly increase their defense budgets or the U.S. will conduct a "reassessment" of its commitments to NATO. A diplomatic official said Trump warned allies that absent an increase in their defense budgets, the U.S. will "do our own thing.” Some European leaders in the room viewed Trump’s comments as a threat. But during a news conference Thursday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called talks between Trump and the other NATO leaders a “frank and open discussion” that “made NATO stronger." "It has created a new sense of urgency,” he said, adding "a clear message from President Trump is having an impact.” Defense Secretary James Mattis had arrived in Brussels worried that the president would exacerbate tensions there with allies, multiple officials said, and had planned to stick closely by the president during his meetings there. But Mattis had a slew of meetings with his own counterparts during the NATO summit and was absent for some key moments. A defense official told reporters that he would be with Trump at a news conference but the defense secretary did not make it to that event. The Pentagon did not respond to NBC News' request for comment. Carol E. Lee and Courtney Kube reported from Washington, and Geoff Bennett from London. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/pentagon-goes-damage-control-mode-
