Sounds a lot like the breakaway at Millwall, with a desperately positive spin on it. Hoos (who I dimly recall as coming across pretty ambivalent the whole thing in his old interviews - I might be wrong) saying they "will continue to aid the team financially going forwards" however.
If cost-cutting is the true consideration I guess the broader question is balancing that with the continuing need to present the club's relevance to the wider community in light of the stadium negotiations. Can't imagine they're a huge financial burden though.
