Hello All

If you'd like to support a good cause tonight and see an all-star benefit match featuring ex-Rams too, Pride Park Stadium is hosting a match in aid of the Lymphoma Association.

Please see the link to the DCFC website for a feature on the event:

We hope to see you there!

Below, I've copied a promotional article for the Lymphoma Association events, which was the RamsTrust "Trusted View" column in the recent Leeds United edition of The RAM matchday magazine.

PPS: The great news is that since the column was published, Jamie Walker who has been through his treatment for 6 years and is in remission, has qualified to be a commercial pilot for Atlantic Airlines.

Good luck to Jamie in his career and here's to a successful event for the Association tonight!

Rams and TV All-Stars Team Up for Lymphoma Association

In 2006, RamsTrust helped at Belper Town’s charity match in aid of young striker Jamie Walker, then just 22. He had contracted Lymphoma, which is a cancer of the lymph glands.

Nigel Clough played for a ‘Legends’ team that day and the event raised over £9,000 for the Kings Mill Hospital Haematology Department.

Happily, Jamie is now in remission and training as a commercial pilot and his father Phillip remains a tireless fund-raiser for the Lymphoma Association.

The Association is staging two all-star charity games to celebrate their 25th anniversary - at Pride Park Stadium on Thursday May 19th (7.15) and Chesterfield’s b2Net Stadium on Sunday 29th May (3.00). RamsTrust will be assisting

The games will feature football legends teams vs. an M1Management TV All-Stars. At Derby, ex-Rams including Craig Short and Tommy Johnson will feature whilst at Chesterfield, Ernie Moss and Kevin Randall appear for the Walker Spirites team!

The M1 team includes stars from East Enders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks.

Both days will be great family events, with after-match entertainment including raffles, memorabilia auctions and guest appearances. End your season in style at these exciting matches, and raise funds for a good cause!

Entrance is just £5 adults (18+), £3 (children); you can buy tickets in advance or pay on the day. Youngsters raising £50 sponsorship for the charity can become mascots for the day - please apply to: charitymascots@gmail.com .
