Striker Needed? 10:50 - Aug 4 with 1046 viewsRabbram10

Once again our old frailties have come back to hunt us, lots of very good possession football, creating lots of good chances & nobody up front for by Theo to convert them?
Surely this time NC will bring in that elusive 20 goals a season striker to compliment the good things in the team, we badly need a goalscorer ASAP IMO?
Coutts & Jacobs look good & Keogh will probably well hopefully get better with games, not sure about the other guy too early to tell yet, but a striker is a must & has been for about three seasons now!!!!!!
Tysons dosent even look like scoring & to be honest nothing comes off him either, he's a bit of a headless chicken at time, thoughts guys?

Glick & Clough have clearly been in denial for a couple of seasons or so concerning the need for a Championship-standard striker that can take the knocks and produce 20 goals a season.

Unfortunately, even if we were to land such a player, it's clearly the club's policy to move its best assets by either responding to offers by selling players outright, or offering relatively inadequate contracts to players in negotiation.

So we might only enjoy a true goalscorer for one season, as the days of a Hector or a Davison - great players and wonderful club servants - are now consigned to history. Clubs & players in the TV-football era chase the money in fees or contracts, with neither party valuing loyalty. That's the fans' job.

Nowadays, we are simply a selling club with very limited ambition beyond maintaining our Championship status and keeping a reasonably tidy balance sheet.

The incoming CEO just has to stick to the established corporate plan of commercial and networking excellence (rather than sporting success), and also balance the expectations of supporters whilst dressing up the matchday experience with sufficient PR bluster & waffle.

We have some "exciting young players" (at the moment - they're all saleable); unfortunately, we also have deadweights like Tyson, and fringe players like Bailey.

So why not work to get rid of Tyson ASAP and give his shirt to someone that can score goals, ready for the new season?

If Bailey's now out of favour, we'd seem to have enough utility/midfield toilers now to trade him for anattacking midfielder that has the missing ingredients of craft & cunning.

We have a very hard-working squad, but all the best UK athletes are in there doing us proud at the Olympics - so let's just buy some quality footballers that will finally give the Rams some consistent attacking bite.

Yes, Rabb - I'm frustrated too!
