After the usual deflation from England at the Euros, and the exhileration and entertainment from the performances from brilliant Team GB and other world athletes at London 2012, football's back....will it match up to the real deal that sports fans got from the Olympics?

Discuss!

Rams fans will look forward to the new season, as ever - though many do not have high expectations regarding the team's chances of bettering last season's mid-table finish.

Here's the BBC's rundown on this season's Championship contenders:

At PPS, cautious fiscal policy, Financial Fair Play and frenzied networking tend to dominate the club's outlook and it seems the manager has always been striving to get the best from the bargain end of the transfer market, with mixed results on and off the pitch.

We still don't have a centre-forward (and now rookie Callum Ball, the nearest body to filling that role, has been loaned out).

Despite scoring 5 in midweek, fans are sceptical about the goal-power in the team - and now have worries about the lack of defensive cohesion.

We don't have a CEO either....who is taking over from the departing Tom Glick?
