Well - there's only a couple of days left for clubs to sign players in the transfer window - including DCFC (ha ha). We've had the spin from Sam Rush about our "box office" (read: "saleable") players that we apparently "don't have to sell". We've had the spin about how ambitious the club is and that Sam wants DCFC promoted ASAP. Now let's see if these words are backed up; I won't believe any tabloid rumours, though I dare say agents will use any method to lever a player out of a club to make money for their client and themselves. That would include the engagement of hacks to generate rumours about players and thus potentially create unrest, asking other managers if they'd be interested if a certain player becomes available, etc. Brayford is possibly quite loyal to Clough, but many other players are greedy and gullible - ideal agent fodder. I hope the story is without foundation, but expect Derby to sell if the offer is "right". | |
