One of the many trivia postscripts on Sir Alex Ferguson's imperious reign at Old Trafford is that he was apparently banned from the touchline 17 times, but has seen off no less than 18 Man. City managers. We are of course compiling a list of how many F*rest managers Nigel Clough will have seen off whilst managing Derby County, but in the meantime I wondered what memories of Rams vs. Man Utd (& Fergie's acts in particular) the good folks on here can recount as the great man retires. Apart from his face after the debut Wanchope goal at Old Trafford, and Commons' winner in the League Cup semi-final, I can still see the crowd of Man Utd players around the referee & Fergie's rage that contrived the sending off of the hapless Stefan Schnoor at PPS a few tears ago. Any other happy or bitter anecdotes? | |
