It's a drag, no Payne or Edwards but I can't say I enjoyed much of how we went about the first half. I'm sure there's plenty I don't know obviously. Egbo has looked out of sorts recently for me and I don't understand Hunt's inclusion at this level. Thankfully our back four seem in accord along with Macey. Must see what the second half brings. Up our improved top ten U's! |

Macey has kept us in the game up to now But it's been a disjointed, mistake strewn effort against a far more composed side so far Durham. |

Don't agree Durham. They were soft goals yes - poor defending frankly - but Bradford were first to every ball, had two on every U's attacker and were much more direct. Looked faster, fitter and stronger too. They could and should have scored more I'm afraid. Not disheartened - how can I be. Where we are is fantastic since October. A credit to all of them. But today we were third. |

A drag Geoff. Sad to learn of this today. I'll be contributing but more importantly wish you personally continued strength and fortitude. Hope you've got all the help you need, these are wonderful folk. CRUK are great and like many I know this well. Be lucky and best wishes. (Link didn't work btw) |

I go on about him too much but he was the most technically skilled and aware forward I've seen at the U's for a long time. He was misused and would be particularly effective now under this management because he's a far more talented player than Anderson. He's scored frequently at Love Street and been a regular goal assist. Good luck to the lad, he's probably earning better than in Essex anyway. Loved his two goals at Swindon a few years back. A more talented John Froggatt. |

Nevertheless Durham this was a fine effort by all. We've drawn at Crewe, drew at Notts Co, beat the leaders, drew with Bradford at the beginning of this 'run' and now held Wimbledon as well. Not lost to anyone in that promotion section. Very proud of them. Welcome back Samson too! Nice to see Chilvers and Mandron continuing their good deeds! I miss Mandron and his skills - he'd be a good partner to Taylor!! Up the upward U's Bravo today. |

Terrific stuff Durham. Good for our gently improving morale. I'd be surprised and delighted not to lose tomorrow. I have always felt that Wimbledon were the best team in the division and their current form as well as stats support that. Of course they must lose sometime, as must we which highlights the fact that this is our biggest test of the season. Like you I can't understand Anderson. His miss on Tuesday was awful - an insult to Sunday morning football. Two strikers would be preferable and you are right that we do miss Tovidé big time. I'd chuck Aboh in from the start fwiw! Anyway, there'll be no game at all if the rain here reaches Essex! Up the steadily improving U's. |

Many of us feel huge relief that our club are not embroiled at the bottom of the league as in the recent past. I for one am relieved and view top ten as massive. To halt, then turn around this juggernaut of failure - almost cultural it's seemed - in just over a year is a fine achievement which I didn't anticipate. Going up, only to be immediately relegated just as our team is receiving a boost in its support through the gate would be a significant wound. Better to finish well then go well again in August to see what happens. Many sides soon return to division two almost immediately. Carlisle did and now look...... Cheltenham didn't last long. Cambridge and Crawley are destined for relegation and all of 'em start with a 'C', err.......as do we . Northampton's place is precarious. Only Stevenage have been a surprise. We don't have the Stockport Wrexham Bradford City (underachievers) Chesterfield support level which obviously translates to income and recruitment. I'm excited by now but moreso about the future. Upwards the U's And two wins this week would be terrific stuff ! |

It's interesting not to mention quite wonderful for some of us to be thinking so positively. I'm inclined to agree with Wessex - playoffs at best - although I'm more of the opinion that a top half finish is the most likely scenario - and indeed - one that I'd be thrilled with. Of course my protective realism could be swept away were we to win well at Notts County and beat Wimbledon and Port Vale at home because those three look likely promotion sides. Were that to happen my optimism would grow exponentially! Currently I'd be pleased with a point at Carlisle, it's a long journey, we rarely do well there and they've a new manager desperate to drag them to safety. We know that feeling all too well. Happy to be very wrong though!! Up the will they can they but ultimately safe already U's !! |
