That’s just the way employment law works - it’s not about whether we like it or not. It’s an unusual event in football and no one seems to win or come out of it with much credibility. In the RW, usually a settlement is offered and negotiated, then the contract is terminated but the club wants a release fee, so they have a stalemate - for now. Meantime, I’m sure Marti’s agents are talking to other clubs on his behalf. That’s why you have agents in football and why there are headhunters in the RW. Should there be enough interest, I’m sure the situation will resolve itself because money will change hands to terminate the contract. If there’s no interest, he could be gardening for a while and that’s the employment contract version of cock blocking. Not sure it helps us having no head coach in place either but that piece of recruitment may also release Marti because you can’t employ two people in the same job - by law. You can probably work around that with a different job title but it’s quite high profile and public so I doubt they will try. Maybe charlieB can advise further on this matter ? |

Changed hairdresser too. I already see him reimagined as the Lizard man…probably cost a couple of weeks wages but imagine what he could do with those nodules on his bonce. No one would have a Danny as to which direction the ball would travel after he headed it. Who knows - he might even score more than 5 a season again. |
 | Forum Reply | "Gardening Leave" - what exactly does this mean ?? at 06:50 5 May 2025
All they are doing is making him serve out the remainder of his contact whilst being paid to stay at home. It’s quite normal for anyone that is leaving to go to a competitor - or that is fired. I suspect he had a confidentiality clause or similar that prevented him from talking to another club without QPR’s permission and that the latest leak was considered a breach of his contract. You can’t have him return to the ‘office’ so they sent him home until someone agrees to the release clause or the contract ends. That could rumble on for some time…. |

You can ask charlieB - he’s seen the paper and wet ink. I’m sure he’ll go on record too. |

Quite odd that such an unbalanced person can provide balance to a team. It made it very clear that a decent, experienced left back playing as part of a unit (alongside a decent LCD) and behind someone who can track back/cover) would provide a big boost to the team, replicating the Dunne/Morgan/Smyth axis. I’m not convinced that is Larkeche or the Brazilian lad though. Both look better going forwards to me. |

Can never be sure but Nourry feels like the type of guy that really needs a good clean ‘sweep of the chimney’ Much like Robin Williams talking to the supervisor in Good Morning Vietnam. Along the lines of, ‘you must be the most in need of a BJ in the whole army…’ |

Fillery split opinions just like Madsen. I remember the abuse as much as the plaudits when the skill finally rose to the top. Just didn’t happen often or consistently enough. |

I don’t know if it’s a dig or not but he’s bloody right. Been a while since we appeared to have done much of what he said. Credit to him and Xavi for dealing with the fallout last week and the game yesterday. Mostly the same players, completely different application and result. I hope he stays on. |

Yeah, twas me. Smells a bit off and I’m pretty sure many of the weird decisions made since February have been to make a point and/or force Nourry’s hand. Toxic in the end. I doubt we’ll ever find out but at least now the season is over, we can try and reboot from the mess. Whoever takes over as head coach is really going to have to work on their managing upwards skills or they won’t be around long. |
