Agreed, this is a potentially a very good deal for the swans, on one proviso and that us all the money gets put back into strengthening the first team. If we end up spending a fraction, then no its a poor deal. We need to spend all that just to keep pace with the poorer teams in the prem |

The shift in the Prem is all about moving to power or pace. Unfortunately most of our starting 11 today lack either. I think the yanks need to concentrate on the first team squad before spending on the stadium. This bunch will not see us survive another season unfortunately. |

Dont understand why players are being asked to do a job week in week out that they are obviously unable to do do. Surely Guidolin must have realised he wasn't doing himself any favours in terms of keeping the job by playing the same stiffs week in week out. Obviously the players don't want Guidolin around next year if that's how they perform |

Top of the league they might be., but at least beat us playing top of the league football. That was just shocking. end of. Do you want to use to apply that same sentiment as last week. Oh wait for it. Newcastle are second from bottom, yet we saw the same failings last week as well. Unfortunately if you pick up premier league wages, week in week out, then you need to defend the basics. Not challenging for balls in the air. Gifting the opposition goals by sloppy lazy passing. Sorry fella, but that don't cut it with me. Not just Williams, the defence as a unit cannot defend. |

We cant defend the basics. Same last week at Newcastle and not much different today. Leicester didn't have to get out of first gear today, we just gifted them the goals. Why do we play put players into situations where they are obviously out of their depth, and thats no fault of their own, their just passed it or not good enough. I was all for the stadium purchase and expansion, but after the last two games, team strengthening must come first surely. |

We have got away with it this season.Probably because there are three worse teams than us, but if we don't strengthen in the summer, we are in for another long hard season. Unfortunately we have players who have been great for the swans over many years, but without pace or power, you cant survive in the Prem. Todays game very much like like last week, poor in the final third in both halves. We cant defend the basics, which is truly unforgivable. Tayls, Leon, Ash Rangel, your time is up sorry guys |

Serious question:- The trust are powerless to stop this. In fact, you have to question the only asset the americans have is premier league status, if they destroy that, they trash their investment and potentially the swans. Would it not be prudent fore the trust to sell their shares now, whilst the money is their, bank £25-30m, and in the nightmare scenario that the investment goes tits up, which hopefully it wont, the trust have the necessary funds in place to come in and rescue the swans, which if you think of Portsmouth, Leeds, Bolton was never an option.
For the trust now to try and hold out against wealthy backers, (and who knows their could be billionaires involved) as in the case of the investment with DC United and inter Milan, the trust would always come off second best. This is the way of the world, accept defeat, bank our money, and keep it their in a safe place for the next rainy day, which hopefully will never happen. |

No I don't believe the next level to be champions league. Our next level after 5 seasons in the prem is owning our own stadium, having a bigger fan base and attendance at home matches than when we entered 5 seasons ago. I am just stating what is reality I'm afraid, whether you, or I agree or not, the owner's want out, that is their right. What do we do if we don't sell. That's not a criticism of anyone, just a plain question |

Well if we don't sell what's the alternative. The owners want out, that much is clear. The only asset that any new owner has is the prem league. Can someone who' s ant sale please tell me what the alternative is, and please don't mention the Sky money everyone has that, and it only covers our costs. If your happy for us to GI down then so be it, been a while since I've been to Brentford |

I don't understand why. Given that HJ and the board have suffered all manner of dogs abuse recently, not spending enough money on players, not buying and expanding the stadium, taking too much divided. All for a good reason, by prem standards, our owners are cash strapped, and don't have the necessary funds to ensure we survive in the prem. When they came in with trust to save us from extinction, that's just what it was, extinction. They never dreamt for one minute, that it would be to keep us in the prem for 5+ seasons. To me its clear, the club needs to grow, both commercially, and with a bigger fan base, and we have to do that without Sky money. If fans would like to continue as little old Swansea, then that's great, I started in 1969, so am more than used to that, but we can't continue as we are in the prem, it nearly caught up with us this year, and it will only be a mattetvof time. But for me, given what the board have done and achieved over the past 12 years, then I have to believe, that they wouldn't hand it over just fore the money, without the believe that any new owner, would not take the club onto the next level. I'm afraid we can't have it both ways |

Not saying that we have to sell to these people, but given that the board are all fans at heart, then the fact that they have been courting discussions for probably longer than we probably know, then if eventually they make the decision that these are suitable people to allow in, then I for one will back their judgement, as I fully believe they have the clubs interests at heart, but I come back to my original comments, we are the only team in the prem that does not own its own ground, the money we generate from match days under the current scheme is peanuts, we need the stadium expansion to push on. The board will not invest whilst they do not own. The goal has to be increasing our fan base so that we regularly play in front of 27-30k week in week out. Just remember when the board and the trust came in it was to rescue us from Petty and to try and sustain lower league football ie league 1 and 2, they never envisaged that we would be in the prem, and that is the real issue now, with sky revenues being consumed on staff wages, they cannot move us on, if the majority are happy enough to maintain the status quo then great, if we want to grow and be the dominant club in Wales for decades to come then we have to do something now. If it was such a lucrative gig why would you want to sell out ? |

Trouble is boys as I see it we are currently at the crossroads. My understanding now is that the wage bill for the whole club and support staff is pretty much all our TV revenue money. Given that we can generate very little income from other sources we are stuck in a rut. Despite what people say the stadium development will not happen whilst we do not own the stadium, and that is a real issue. I have noticed on my recent visits to Fairwood that the new extension to the main block has not moved on since the summer, probably reflecting the fact that we have run out of money. I would imagine the first thing the new owners would do is buy the stadium off the council. The board in its current format cannot take the swans any further. [Post edited 1 Nov 2014 8:04]
