John O Groats to Land's End Cycle ride
at 23:30 25 Apr 2014

Hi

Some of you will know me but most of you will know Simon 'Oggle' Hammonds aka RICKY HATTON. Simon has turned his life around and is now a proud Father of Daniel Dale. I believe there has been a thread about him bringing his pram in to the ground etc...

We are riding for the Alzheimer's Society and Springhill Hospice. If you have a fiver to spare please sponsor Simon. Just go to the just giving website and search for Simon Hammonds.

Peter Cavanagh- Captain fantastic?

Gilkes and Jean Louis were okay, they have gone on to better things. To be fair any decent players get snapped up by someone else or we cannot offer a decent contract. Some players look ok initially but are ultimately poor - Spencer for instance. I always liked Scott Warner cos he was a Rochdale lad and he always tried his best.

Peter Cavanagh- Captain fantastic?

Having watched Gary Jones in the week, then watched this clown pass the ball to every player in red it is about time he was BINNED

I liked him in the early games but since the injury he has been shocking, For me the highlight of today was when he was subbed. He is our CAPTAIN and he is one of the worst players I have seen in a Dale shirt since from Michael Simpkins!

Southend stewards/security
at 14:23 25 Nov 2012

I was quite enjoying the banter yesterday. The atmosphere was good and a small number of Dale fans singing sounded like hundreds rather than about 20 of us.

The big guy enjoyed himself and he taunted back, we gave it back and I enjoyed that.

Unfortunately one of our fans got into a face to face argument with the black jacketed steward who I believe was of the Bouncer mentality ans was looking for a ruck with someone. the fan was evicted peacefully an one of his mates had word with said steward who again took exception to what was said. Our fan refused to be evicted as he quite rightly believed he had done nothing wrong. His resisting led to the man being dragged by his foot bouncing his head off the steps at the front of the stand. This steward was looking for some trouble and made sure it happened.

The atmosphere changed thereafter, especially when the coin throwing incident occurred. The lad who had thrown it deserves a ban if he has done it. I do not know him but have seen him at games. he seems like a nice lad so I am surprised he has done what he has been accused of. The CCTV will prove either way.

For about 60 minutes we did well but when they equalised we lost it big style. Southend deserved the win in the end as we just let them play once we scored.

Lillis
at 14:05 25 Nov 2012

The first goal was a shot that went through our defenders legs as he tried to block the shot. Lillis didn't have much chance with that.

Second goal was clearly his error with him flapping at the ball as it came over. He dive to his right to catch/parry the ball away dropping it into the path of one of their players. That goal was within two minutes of the first and killed us off!

Third goal he had no chance - it was finished well by their player.

One of our main problems is that we turn an attacking play so quickly into an error leading to a breakaway cance for the opposition. The two "wing" backs being caught out of position exposing our central midfield/defenders. That''s my opinion anyway.

So what? The point is that Donnelly did not deserve to be dropped.
Changes to the team being made for no particular reason!

Biggest cheer of the day was when Cavanagh got subbed. Read the post by Dalefan - I agree, since Cav got back into the team we have gone down the pan

I thought he was okay before he got injured but he cannot find a pass at the moment and is giving nothing to the team. GET HIM ON TH BENCH!

What did Donnelly do to get dropped, Grimes was a passenger today. Donnelly had score two goals - he was on a bit of a run.

Edwards did ok at right back but Rafferty has done a reasonable job. Its McIntyre that worries me, he was missing at left back a lot of the time.

I hope we can find som form at home. Oxfor won 5-0 today!

What game was JC watching? 3-1 was pretty good as far as I could see. We should have been at least 4 or 5 down in the first half. We did have one chance at the end of the first half which was cleared off the line but REALLY JC 3-1 flattered them?!

In your dreams mate.

I had the misfortune of wasting about £160 quid today getting to Brentford. The players in the main were terrible. Lucas did ok in nets, Tutte tried to drive forward and JLAA did his best. Everyone else was shocking.

Our set pieces, corners, free kick and throw ins are really really poor, we carry no threat. What formation are we playing with this bunch of misfit Sunday league players. If only someone would put in a crunching challenge, or get a yellow card for a miss timed tackle - we are either too slow to the ball or wimp out of the challenges. Where is the passion for the fight?

Is it any wonder we cannot get behind the team, they cannot pass to each other - the basics seem to be impossible for us.

I stayed to the end till the players left the pitch. Joner left with his head bowed, no fight left in him and any skill he had has gone - time to drop to the bench im afraid. I applauded Tutte because he did have some spark but I cannot bring myself to clap a team that is so bereft of skill, fight or passion.

Last chance saloon against Walsall next week

I also will be giving the end of season do a swerve as I can find nothing to celebrate with this team.

Saw you waiting at the players exit near the coach. Did you vent your spleen at them or congratulate them on the way out?

Colchester 1 - 6 Stevenage
at 14:43 15 Jan 2012

The thing that annoys me is that I watched Stevenage at Accrington in the play offs. It was a rubbish game and they just about deserved it but they were nothing special.

We had a cracking season last year and fully deserved to stay in the Division and build for the future.

Less that 4 months later, they hammered us 4-2!. Now 5-1 at home. The difference is that we employed a clueless cheap option who has ruined our club and we now stand on the abyss.

Can we recover? Who knows.

What I do know is that i am very worried about the future. Rochdale people couldn't care less about having a football team. (I was as guilty as anyone for 38
years!) There is no sugar daddy out there to help us out and we do not raise enough funds to attract players in.

The club is in danger of dying, going down without even a whimper and it is sad to see. We need some inspiration from somewhere.

Ah well Tranmere is another game - we might thrash them 5-0! Hic!

Fully agree

We have a player now who can hold the ball up. What we have lacked is players who can get past a man and deliver a good ball into the box. Occasionally Adams and Widdowson can do that but is only down the left. I was shocked yesterday when Amankwaah hugged the right wing. I couldn't believe someone was playing out there! He wasn't very effective but there number 2 showed us how it should be done

Tutte and Kennedy are worth a try to give Jonah a rest.
We are stuck for a left back Tuesday, so it's Jordan or BBM. Give the new lads a try at centre back, Byrne and Amankwaah, if Darby is fit play him.

I am at a loss to name the other midfielders, we are severely lacking at the moment - it has to be Adams i suppose, but who else?

Our only option Tuesday i think is Ormerod, Boggers and Grimes. Adams, Tutte and Kennedy in midfield. Same old same old.

Let us pray to the football gods that high winds blows the stand over at Tranmere again to give us a bit more time to regroup,
