You're right Wiz. Were not too far away. If only we can start scoring goals and stop letting them in we will be fine. Sadly, Millwall will be in the relegation dogfight so gifting them three points is suicidal. |

Despite that and his schoolboy blunder against Brentford I think he will make a good player one day. Not sure we need to suffer his apprenticeship though. |

Don't kid yourself. We were not capable of winning any of the four games so far, however well you think we played in the second half of each. Brentford's first goal was coming for 15 minutes. They completely dominated the midfield and they are a bottom half team. We might have held out for a barely deserved draw but a schoolboy mistake decided it. Like last season I can't see where a win is coming from. |

Sadly I have to agree with you Graham. Pre-season or not, the team should be showing some signs of competing, but looks a million miles for a first win. Weak at the back, absent in midfield and woeful up front. I can't see one single player capable of turning a game for us and I have never seen that in 50 years. Every Pool team I have seen, even in the dark days, would beat the current side. |

Thread | What level are we playing at?

For a good part of last season, especially when we went on our seemingly never ending run of defeats, I would say we were playing at Conference level or possibly below that. So far this season, we have been well beaten by a Championship team and a League 2 side without really looking like scoring a goal.
It's hard to know whether this team is any better than last year's. One thing is for sure though. We won't be getting the 15 points start we had then so it's going to have to be a lot better to survive this time round. |
