Port Vale claim Heslop signing Thursday, 17th Jul 2008 19:47 Port Vale are claiming on their official website that they have agreed terms with Dale trialist Simon Heslop and it's now just a case of agreeing a deal with Barnsley and Heslop passing a medical. Heslop had been with Dale over the past week, whilst we took at the Barnsley midfielder whilst away on our Spanish pre-season training. We'd agreed to look at him with a view to a loan deal, similar to the one he had with Halifax last season. But after arriving back from the continent, he's travelled down to Burslem and has reportedly agreed terms with the Valiants after Vale boss Lee Sinnott stayed away from their own pre-season training camp at Uxbridge to complete the signing of Heslop and former Dale loanee Louis Dodds. Vale have still to agree terms with Barnsley and it is believed they are looking at a permanent deal for Heslop rather than the loan deal that we were interested in.
