Joe Allon joined the SWans from Newcastle United and he was eventually to leave to go onto such clubs as Chelsea, Brentford and Hartlepool to name a few. The latter club he is regarded as a legend because in one season he scored thirty plus goals. Whilst on the books at the Vetch he scored in several consecutive games thus threatening to equal the club record. He is believed now to be back in the Hartlepool area doing match commentaries and he arranges the oportunity for football fans to meet their heroes. He was certainly one of my heroes in the late eighties and early nineties.
