Words To Haunt?

How often in football do we see swipes at the opposition come back and haunt the player or players that made them?

Well, Swans fans will be hoping that it happens tomorrow after Carlisle's Chris Lumsdon took a pop at the Swans ahead of the game at the Liberty Stadium. In the classic "this will serve for our team talk" scenario Lumsdon said "With the money Swansea have spent and the players they've bought over the last few seasons, they should really be running away with this league. "I've got a couple of mates down there and they say the money being thrown about is unbelievable. "They are underachieving and I think their fans think that as well. "If we can keep it tight to start with, those fans might get on their back and we can take advantage."

And with reference to Lee Trundle and that flag at the end of the FLT Final, Lumsdon added "That's just the way he is. I think he likes the attention like a couple of their lads, but they got fined for it."
