![]() Sunday, 30th May 2010 14:08 Today's newspapers are reporting Paulo Sousa as favourite to take over at the KC Stadium In a close season that has started slowly as far as Swansea City are concerned, Sousa is reported to be lined up as the favourite to take over from Iain Dowie following the Tigers relegation from the top flight. And the speculation is that if Sousa does depart the Liberty Stadium then Exeter boss Tisdale is the man lined up by the Swansea board to take over the reigns after they considered him last summer. Of course all of this is pure speculation with the noises coming from both club and manager that Sousa will be here next season despite the increasingly strained relationship that looked apparent at the end of last season - something that was denied by both manager and club since the season ended. Sousa claimed towards the end of the season that the lack of finances was a factor behind the end of season fall away whilst the club board have many times stated their prudent approach towards finances at the club. Tisdale lifted Exeter from the conference to League One in two seasons on a shoestring budget and Swans Chairman Huw Jenkins has previously described that achievement as "remarkable" The papers report that Tisdale is feeling that he has taken the Grecians as far as he can and would relish a new opportunity after he opted to stay at Exeter last season.
