Lopes and Denayer both made their Champions League debuts for their loan clubs last night.

Nineteen-year-old Denayer who is on loan at Celtic started the match last night and helped them earn a 1-1 draw with Slovenian side Maribor.

Lopes came off the bench for Lille and played his part in a unfortunate 1-0 home defeat to Porto.

Patrick Viera the Manchester City EDS head coach heaped praise on his two youngster via Twitter.

Lopes and Denayer both signed season long loan deals with their respective clubs.
