Granada have confirmed that they are interested in signing Michu from Swansea as the saga of where will he end up rumbles on.

There is no doubt that Michu has played his last game in a Swansea shirt following the comments earlier in the week of Garry Monk and now it just remains to see where the player ends up and how the parting actually takes place.

There are still questions over whether the Swans will give him a free transfer or whether they will look to command a fee for him or even whether the player is prepared to walk out on the remainder of what was a reasonably lucrative contract signed when he was at the peak of his time here.

We all know the Michu story for Swansea but it is coming to be a very sad end with plenty of reported interest in the player and the confirmation from Granada that they would like to do a deal if possible.

"We like Michu a lot," Granada sporting director Juan Carlos Cordero said to Spanish sports newspaper Marca.

"We have spoken to him and with his agent, but there is no agreement nor have we begun negotiations.

"He would be a very important player for Granada but he has a contract with his club.

"We have players in that position and we also have a budget that we must respect.

"He has a very good relationship with Sandoval," Cordero said about the players relationship with the Granada manager.

"He was the one that gave him the opportunity to play in the Primera Division and he had a great season at Rayo working with Sandoval."
