He has an incredible win rate of over sixty percent whilst at Glasgow Rangers and Feyenoord. And that’s as a manager with two hundred and forty plus games under his belt. In between those two appointments he was at Guangzhou R&F in China, but he quit wanting to be with his family, and of course Covid was also an issue.

And now we see him at 10/1 in the betting ( Sky Bet ) to become the next Swansea City head coach. Sounds remarkable does it not ? His salary is quoted as being around £1,500,000 a year at Rangers. Would the Swans be able to pay that, or more likely would they want to ? Giovanni took around £2,400,000 when he left his post in November last year. He has taken Rangers to a Europa League final which they lost on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt. They then qualified for the Champions League, but Giovanni couldn’t bring more success to Rangers and was a sacked during the World Cup break. If there was ever a club who who earned an entitlement to think they could progress as much as Giovanni had - then it was The Gers. It was one of the more shocking sackings considering what he had done at the club.

Since then he has been out of work.

For the record the Swans haven’t approached Giovanni or his agent, however it has been mentioned to us it could be a clever piece of work by his representatives at PVM, or a joint initiative to get Giovanni back in to the limelight. By having him so quickly listed in the betting, literally overnight, the belief is it’s been a cleverly manufactured way to get the press reporting on him. That ensures other clubs know he may be interested in a return to football management and, Look, ‘There’s no smoke without fire’ If nothing else. He is out of contract and clubs may well be in touch with his agent already.

We can openly say that surely must be the reason. The Swans haven’t been in touch with him, so where did this story came from ? Especially now that a ‘Swans club insider’ is talking to Wales On Line and has poured water on the flames regards Nathan Jones. Interesting, as this club insider talks to Wales On Line every other day. So, he knew about Nathan Jones ? He is either being tasked by the club, you know, ‘Be a good lad and sneak that out to Wales On Line’ Or Wales On Line have just blown him out of the water. This particular club employee reads this website religiously, running back to Swans Chairman Andrew Coleman shouting about how those naughty ‘Swans Indy people’ keep getting news out of the club. ‘If you keep those blinkers on mate you will never see the late finisher to your blind side’ Hilarious in fact, but then pay peanuts ….

There’s a few names on there that wouldn’t even look at the Swans job. We know about Chris Davies. Steve Cooper wouldn’t return the way the club treated him after two consecutive playoffs.
