Siggy - needs a rest/move 18:46 - Jan 4 with 7185 views | TheResurrection | He looked totally ineffective for the vast majority of the game, the cross aside, and the stats back that up. His most passed to player was Taylor, understandably, but a lowly 7 times and only features towards the bottom of the list. It shows he's not really connecting with any of our team even accounting for him being inside left. He made the one tackle - yes 1 - 3 interceptions, 1 aerial dual and misplaced a 1/3 of his passes 24/36. Ans last night's game wasn't a one off - it's become the norm. Having said that, I would worry about our set pieces if he were to be rested or sold as they are a dangerous weapon for us this season. But overall something needs to happen with him. Kelly to Tomkins 16 Naughton to Routledge 15 Tomkins to Kelly 13 Tomkins to Delaney 12 Delaney to Cabaye 11 Llorente to Cork 10 Mawson to Fernandez 10 Cabaye to Kelly 9 Ward to Ledley 9 Routledge to Naughton 8 Ledley to Tomkins 8 Hennessey to Benteke 8 Cork to Fernandez 8 Taylor to Llorente 8 Sigurdsson to Taylor 8 Fernandez to Mawson 8 Delaney to Tomkins 7 Ledley to Delaney 7

That was a set piece - as mentioned in the OP. We'd miss them. But not much else. Or did you not grasp that?

I don’t think anyone would say Gylfi is playing well, but maybe if we didn’t play him wide in front of Taylor, it would help. Hopefully a new manager will bring the best out of him.

Siggy - needs a rest/move on 19:12 - Jan 4 with 4279 views | oh_tommy_tommy | I don't think cutting off your goal supply is a good idea . It really doesn't matter if he's having a bad spell at the moment . He's having a mare , just like every player in the squad . He'll come good again , class always stays . I'd give him a rest Saturday And hopefully get ready to score YET ANOTHER GOAL AGAINST ARSENAL . Stop winding everyone up mun . [Post edited 4 Jan 2017 19:25]

This is where the uncertainty starts. I do grasp certain things, mind you they have to have a certain reality about them first. Like cheese trousers as an example. Or to compare that last statement to your OP. Pointless.

Siggy - needs a rest/move on 19:46 - Jan 4 with 4031 views | Cooperman | The thread title is 'Siggy - needs a rest / move'. I think it should read 'Siggy - needs suitable link up men'. The guy has shown enough class in both of his spells with us to tell me that we need to match him to the correct man up top / wide, and that we're not currently doing that.

I think it should be The Ressurection needs a move! Rest for sure. He has played more games than anyone bar the Keeper. And does more running and puts in more effort than any other player in the squad. Of course he needs a flippin rest! A Move? Do me a favour!

He's for real alright, talks a lot of sense sometimes, but often talks a load of old bollox. On this occasion it's the latter.

Again I agree 100%, also in my opinion siggy has been running around half the time, clearing up everyone elses mess, give him some credit always gives his best, some good days some not so good, and without his set pieces, and link up play, where would we be now.

There's always excuses when it comes to golden boy siggy."He's played out of position, there are no link men, he's tired from running around after others!" He's not doing the basics, his first touch and control is poor, moves generally break down when he gets involved, but he is good with set pieces.

Siggy - needs a rest/move on 20:28 - Jan 4 with 3766 views | LeonWasGod | What that list actually shows is a lot of safe passes between defenders and that our right hand side partnership worked together more closely than Tayls and Siggy, which was obvious. It's suggests our play went more often down the right although there are better stats that would confirm if that was true. If he only had 36 passes it also tells us he didn't see that much of the ball (supported by Taylor picking out Llorente more than Siggy). The list also doesn't show the other 14-15 players involved last night, so that's just the top of the full list. But generally that list is no indication of the impact of any one player. The important stats would be how many chances created, assists and goals. If Siggy isn't consistently near our top performer in those I'd be very surprised. His quality on the ball is off atm, but his work rate off the ball, commitment and desire are exemplary. Selling him would be madness. But then I suspect this is a usual wind-up / troll effort.

Siggy - needs a rest/move on 21:03 - Jan 4 with 3589 views | dameedna | Idblike clemo to try kingo behind siggy next game. Id give him another go on the left. Our wing play was generally beyter and Ki had time and space to ping the ball around. We have been a bit rushed in the middle and far less dangerous giving the ball away on the wing than breaking out of defence. That is killing us. Palace was a step.in the right direction until we are relatively safe. Siggy can take corners and free kicks.
