Thought we might need one of these now that silly season has started.

Matt Grimes is open to joining Everton from "Football Insider" - how reliable are they? They say in another article that Brighton are looking at Chris Wilder after being frustrated in their attempt to talk to Potter.

Not often I disagree with you mate but Declan John is shite.

Decent game towards end of season besides that has looked like a 3rd choice full back from Rangers.

He grew in confidence at the end of the season and started looking dangerous going forward. It will be interesting seeing what Cooper can do with the defensive side of his game.

Could we attract Ianis Hagi?

Outstanding for Romania u21 who beat England 4-2 .

Playing for a Romanian team and valued at 4m. 20 yrs old . Son of Georghi of Barcelona and Romania fame.

It’s going to take some significant departures before we can even think about signing players for £4m.

Valued at 4m means no we can’t attract him.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

I’ll have a go at that.

We sell Mcburnie and VDH.

We replace with young loanees who played for Cooper during his Liverpool & England years. We also sign Ben Woodburn on season long loan to replace James.

Garrick / Cooper / Cullen will get plenty of minutes this year also (Not saying that’s a bad thing)

Borja & Andre Ayew’s leave on frees.

Jordan Ayew leaves for £3m

Thought he did well until the injury at Bristol. I’d like to see him have a run in the side.. which he will get if Roberts leaves.

3-5-3 would mean playing with no keeper, which would probably still be an improvement on nordvelt.

Love it

Right.

So we sell a 20+ goals a season striker. The only striker of note we have. And replace him with a relatively expensive left back who most of us have seen diddley squat of, and we are all happy?

Is it mushroom season already?

Playtime.
Ayew and Ayew, Montero and Carroll will go out on loan as no one will pay for them
Borja is paid off.
We sell McBurnie and Grimes for a combined £14 million.
Nordfeldt, £2 million, and Dyer free will also go.
Cabango, Govea, Garrick, Cooper and Cullen will become regulars.
Conflict between Cooper who will want to loan in some England under 21s and Birch who doesn't like loans. Giggs will insist we take Woodburn, a move supported by Cooper, who turns out to be less effective than Sanches and despite his immediate impression on the younger players Cooper will be gone by November with Britton taking over as manager and Curtis and Routledge coaching the team.
On the other hand we could just get rid of the deadwood, bring in 3 or 4 players, play great football and creep towards the play-offs.

If we sell McBurnie, I would keep the Ayew brothers and Baston and only let them go if teams pay up. None of this we pay half their wages stuff.

McBurnie is not PL quality and £12-£15 million is good business only if we have suitable replacements. At the moment he still lacks a bit of beef and he is never going to trouble teams with pace.

We can't afford to pay their wages though it's crippling us financially, they obviously have no appetite to play for the club either.
It's a cr@p situation but if we can't sell them then we have to loan them out.

Forget his pace and his strength (which I think gets unfairly criticised). If we sell him, we have to replace his goals, either with an individual or as a collective.

Routledge, Dyer, Celina and McKay would do well to get 20 between them. He’s our only real goalscorer at the moment.

Not just about pay and their reluctance to play for us.
It was very clear their presence was having an extremely negative affect on the club.
One telling piece of info I was given (very, very off the record) was that it was only after the summer transfer window last summer that all the players were enthusiastic and always willing to support community events - getting back to being a community club. The current set up are now also including attitude to supporting the club in the community as an important factor when looking at possible transfers.
'Along with massive wages come massive egos. But Bony was lovely!'

If he goes, he needs to be out that door pronto because we need someone in to replace him who's had at least some pre-season with us.
