We replace with young loanees who played for Cooper during his Liverpool & England years. We also sign Ben Woodburn on season long loan to replace James.

We sell Mcburnie and VDH.
We replace with young loanees who played for Cooper during his Liverpool & England years. We also sign Ben Woodburn on season long loan to replace James.

Conflict between Cooper who will want to loan in some England under 21s and Birch who doesn't like loans. Giggs will insist we take Woodburn, a move supported by Cooper, who turns out to be less effective than Sanches and despite his immediate impression on the younger players Cooper will be gone by November with Britton taking over as manager and Curtis and Routledge coaching the team.

Not just about pay and their reluctance to play for us.
It was very clear their presence was having an extremely negative affect on the club.
One telling piece of info I was given (very, very off the record) was that it was only after the summer transfer window last summer that all the players were enthusiastic and always willing to support community events - getting back to being a community club. The current set up are now also including attitude to supporting the club in the community as an important factor when looking at possible transfers.
