I can’t see it changing either with any of the teams coming up next season. 17 Premier League clubs have got it stitched up making it virtually impossible for a club to come up from the Championship and get themselves established. Unless they have shed loads of money or like Notts Forest were prepared to gamble.

The Championship is a very inferior league nowadays, almost totally devoid of talent. If a young player is any good he's already in a Premier League academy. For players at the other end of their careers, they can make more money in the Middle East and North America than they can from dropping into the Championship.

There used to be a time when a top flight team only needed 12 good players, but now they need at least twice that number, leaving none for the Championship.
