It’s a shame you see conspiracies everywhere. The 60s are a fascinating period of social history which the Beatles played a significant part in.
I’m not a particular fan but recognise they are an important part of that history.
Firstly they were not manufactured. The Beatles all met through playing with different bands playing skiffle stuff which was popular at the time. They were also very good musicians. And yes they were prolific song writers. Some are rubbish others are great songs. For every Yellow Submarine there’s a Blackbird.
And yes girls and young women did scream and let themselves go at not just Beatles concerts. This is the start of the 60s and post war Britain. Read about it.
As for Chapman. A deluded loser shot John Lennon outside his New York apartment. Nothing else. No conspiracy no CIA etc.
WS may in the future turn out to be a good manager but you don’t recruit to the most senior position in any organisation based on potential. You appoint on previous experience and a proven track record in a similar job at the same level.
No we haven’t turned a corner. Would suggest there is a tiny speck of light emerging from a long tunnel. WS dropping underperforming players and looking like agreeing a starting 11 has helped but it’s a start rather than some dramatic upturn in our fortunes.
Reform have pledged 17 billion to the NHS which is more than any other party. This on top of tax cuts and raising the tax thresholds. And huge increases in defence budgets. If anyone thinks this will be funded by stopping illegal immigration and cutting waste in public services then they are deluded. Like all parties if elected they will find UK PLC is up the shitter. The irony being that Brexit has played a huge part in.
I think the plan is for those people standing outside hotels waving flags to pick up the slack and take low paid jobs in care homes or as hospital porters.
WS explained his subs. Fellows kept cutting inside and he wanted to stretch the pitch and go over the top more which is what Fraser did. First half was poor but credit to the manager for changing things. We are nowhere near the finished product but after last season there is a glimmer of positivity. Agreeing on a settled starting 11 is a positive.
It was definitely a game of two half's. We were terrible in the first resorting to the loads of possession but going nowhere passing backwards and sideways Rusty ball. Second half we realised that in order to score you have to get the ball forward and were far more positive. Stewart was excellent as were others. Don’t know what Still said at half time but it clearly had some effect. What impressed me was the way we battled when we were put under pressure. The players worked their socks off for that win and you could see what it meant to them and the manager at the end.
As for Wilder he has always been a nasty bit of work. Ref did well.
There is no way compulsory national service will return. Those days are long gone. Reform will probably suggest it then realise it’s another bonkers idea that in reality won’t ever happen.
What happened in October 2023 was truly shocking and a terrible crime. Hamas are no friends of the Palestinian people. They are, however,a product of a brutal apartheid regime that is Israel. Imagine someone coming to your house bulldozing it and then forcing you to live with millions of others in a tiny strip of land where you have no rights to travel Water and electricity is controlled by Israel and any opposition is met with brutality and often imprisonment without trial. Israel’s response to Oct 2023 has now been seen as genocidal by the UN and others. Netanyahu is a war criminal and should be treated as such .
