Saw the Kooks on their current Inside In/Inside Out tour.

Small venue, great atmosphere. Really good performance and energy, very impressed with the playlist apart from the poppy guff, but that was limited to just 2-3 tracks out of 20+ and an encore.

Mostly played what the tour promised - their first album, plus the majority of better known tracks and a really good acoustic version of Seaside, as you would expect.

Looks like they are touring smaller venues in the UK too and if you have/can get tickets, I’d recommend this over watching the next two QPR games. Could save you years in therapy.

Will definitely be back for the Konk tour - if it happens.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Sounds good. Some nice nostalgia for me that album.

Did you know that Eddie's Gun was about premature ejaculation?

Yes, there were some interesting hand gestures for that one ☝️!

Also a premature start to the whole gig with the wrong guitar intro (twice stopped) before a whispered intervention.

After that, pretty flawless. Especially the vocals.

Quite a few bands from that period shone brightly then seemingly vanished without trace. Definitely the soundtrack to a good summer.

Similarly The Sunshine Underground. Possibly bigger oop norf I'm not sure. But their first album was the soundtrack to a summer, then vanished. Saw them in a small venue on a reunion tour in Sheffield, absolutely destroyed the place, so good.

Arctic Monkeys were also on the list but the small venue clinched this one - 900 max capacity makes for a great atmosphere. I hope the UK gigs are for similar sized crowds, it’s a game changer for the right bands.
