Great video on the Swans site of our last season at the Vetch Field 20 years ago. Swansea City said farewell to the Vetch Field with a 2-1 victory over Wrexham in the FAW Premier Cup final on May 11, 2005.

Great indeed and thanks for posting , I've just found the match itself , a bit long but some great memories of that evening including seeing a younger version myself .

Nice to see the players give Kenny Jackett the credit he deserves for the work he put in to turning us into a professional outfit after the Flynn debacle instead of airbrushing him out of history like the club did.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I had a patch of grass from the pitch. Sadly being a poor gardener it didn't survive

I was kind of glib with this but the injustice that KJ faces does actually piss me off.
Not a great manager obviously, but a decent, moral man who understood that a talented squad needed a bit of discipline and direction. As a result of his efforts Roberto Martinez inherited perhaps the strongest position that any Swans manager had in decades and somehow got the credit for everything that happened afterwards.

One of my favourite eras following the Swans was under KJ, some great memories. He played a big part in our recent history but has been sadly airbrushed out for some reason.

Something like 110 goals scored in the 05/06 season whilst the usual tedious suspects accused him of being a dull, long ball manager.
He was here for 2 1/2 years and we were significantly better off when he left than we were when he arrived. A major player in our progression after the great escape.

Exactly, don't understand why he gets such a bad press

Understanding why is easy.
Swans fans love an arse kisser and hate people who tell them the Truth. KJ was always a bit too blunt for their liking, in much the same way as Duff was.

Agreed, but took us as far as he could. Not sure why he was pretty much ignored in the history thingy.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

If we'd won against Barnsley I think we'd have been stable the season after, but we needed more to kick on to the heights that we did. Ultimately our promotion to the Prem was a result of a succession of capable coaches building on the work of their predecessors.
I suspect that he was ignored for the same reasons Sousa was. He'd upset the wrong people.

I got a centre stand seat complete with back support (number 83 ,I purposely looked for that the year I starting supporting the swans) it's got a bracket and fixed to my back wall over looking the garden with a brass plate above it with " I can't help falling in love with you" Always sit on it after cutting the grass for a can of Bow
